$1 Billion Luxury Tourism Investment North Coast, Dominican Republic

Alex Rodríguez and David Collado Announce $1 Billion Luxury Tourism Investment in Playa Grande, Dominican Republic

In a historic announcement, former Major League Baseball star and entrepreneur Alex Rodríguez, along with the Dominican Republic’s Tourism Minister David Collado, unveiled a $1 billion investment in the country’s luxury tourism sector.

The project will turn Playa Grande, in the María Trinidad Sánchez province, into a luxury destination for the rich and famous.

    A Vision for Ultra-Luxury Tourism

The development will include new hotels and residential properties in an initial ultra-luxury phase. Partnerships with Amanera and Discovery Land Company will make the area more attractive to high-end tourists. Playa Grande already has the world-class Amanera hotel and a Robert Trent Jones golf course, and will become the go-to spot for global elites looking for exclusivity and nature.

    Economic Impact and Community Development

Minister Collado said this investment shows the private sector’s confidence in the Dominican Republic and its commitment to developing new niches in the national tourism industry. The project will boost high-end tourism, especially in the northern communities of Río San Juan and Cabrera, and create jobs in the area.

Rodríguez’s Love for His Country Rodríguez said he’s proud to be part of this project and that the partnerships with Amanera and Discovery Land Company will attract global elites and make the country a luxury destination.

A New Era for Dominican Tourism and Real Estate

This is a big deal for Dominican tourism, a shift towards high-end tourism and positioning the country as a top luxury destination in the Caribbean. With its beautiful landscapes, world-class amenities, and warm people, Playa Grande will redefine luxury tourism in the region.
